  • Advocacy and Awareness Clubs

    Breast Cancer Awareness Club
    This club aims to spread awareness of breast cancer and create opportunities to help those affected and organize activities such as making cards, participating in fundraisers, and many more. This club is looking to expand their mission and hopes to further educate the NDP community about the statistics and impact that breast cancer has on our society. The goal of this club is to bring hope and increase awareness.

    Claire Marie Club
    The Claire Marie Club honors the life and light of Claire Marie Wagonhurst who lost her battle to melanoma at the age of 17. This club aims to spreads awareness about adolescent and adult melanoma and ways to help prevent it. The club shares information about different screenings, ways to stay sun safe, and supports the foundation through school events. The NDP club is an official club of the national organization.

    Green Schools
    This club aims to promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and eco-friendly practices within the school and the broader community, as well as provide actionable ways for students to make a difference. The goal of this club is to bring hope and increase awareness.

    Live for Lara
    This club honors the life and legacy of fellow NDP student, Lara Hough, who passed away on May 6, 2020, from acute myeloid leukemia. This club aims to inform students about childhood cancer and support the Johns Hopkins Childhood Cancer Unit by making craft kits and sharing information about service and fundraising opportunities. This would be Lara's senior year at NDP, so the club is working hard to honor her memory in a special way.

    Mental Health and Wellness Club
    This club aims to provide support and awareness around the topic of adolescent mental health and wellness. The club will work collaboratively with the Wellness Counselor and the Counseling Department to share information regarding self-care and mental health resources. The club will also spend time practicing strategies that support the mental well-being of the NDP community.

    Morgan's Message
    Morgan's Message strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletics. We aim to expand the dialogue on mental health by normalizing conversations, empowering those who suffer in silence, and supporting those who feel alone. Athlete or not, anyone is welcome to join! The NDP club is an official club of the national organization.

    One Love
    This club honors the life and legacy of Yeardley Love, a 2006 alumna who passed away due to domestic violence shortly before she was supposed to graduate from UVA. She was a student-athlete and a bright and impactful person in the community. The goal of the club is to educate the NDP community about healthy relationships and resources available. The club is working with other local high schools to partner in fundraising and community building. The NDP club is an official club of the national organization.

    Period. Club
    Period. Club's purpose is to destigmatize and normalize menstruation and reproductive health. The goal of this club is to raise awareness about period poverty and advocate for menstruators without access to hygienic products. Period. Club will hold period product drives that will be donated to Baltimore City homeless shelters. The NDP club is an official club of the international organization.

    Student Advocates for Equality (SAFE)
    This club provides as a safe space for LGBTQ+ students.

    Women's Advocacy Club
    In cooperation with the QIN program and the Refugee Youth Project this club will strive to educate the NDP community about the fallibility of gender roles in society and inspire them to use their voices and become women who transform the world.
  • Affinity Groups

    Asian Student Association (ASA)
    The Asian Student Association serves a dual purpose as both an affinity group for students who identify as Asian, Asian American, Pacific Islander, or South Asian and as an advocacy group looking to further educate the NDP community. As an education and advocacy group, ASA promotes and plans programming that educates about the beautiful cultures that make up the umbrella term "Asian", that highlights the contributions of AAPI people throughout history, and that addresses the challenges Asian Americans still face today both locally and globally. This is accomplished through collaborative work with the Diversity Council, advisory presentations and assemblies, "culture highlight" events open to the whole NDP student body, and participation in the annual Maryland Asian Pacific Islander South Asian Conference (MAPISAC).

    Black Student Union (BSU)
    This club aims to provide a safe and welcoming environment for Black individuals at NDP.

    Bridges
    The Bridges club provides support and advocacy for students on campus who identify as LGBT or LGBT allies. We build bridges of respect, compassion and sensitivity. All are welcome!

    DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Allies)

    Greek Student Association
    Provides a space for students of Greek descent to connect with others of similar backgrounds. The club will also work to raise awareness about Greek heritage including culture, history, and language.

    Latin and Hispanic Student Union (LHSU)
    Provides a safe haven for open discussion among Hispanic and Latin students at NDP. Also, plans meetings and celebrations for the school on Hispanic holidays.

    Middle Eastern Student Association (MESA)
    The Middle Eastern Student Association (MESA) is an affinity group of the Diversity Council. It is focused on educating the NDP community on the history and culture of the Middle East. This includes music, food, celebrations, and more!
  • Competitive Clubs

    ACE (Architecture, Construction, Engineering) Team
    The ACE team is an academic team that meets weekly in the Spring to participate in the Baltimore chapter of the ACE Mentorship program. The team is given a local development/ construction site to plan, design, and model, and they present their design at the ACE Presentation Night in May. Throughout the process, they work with a team of architecture and engineering professionals to learn the basics of site planning and development, architecture and interior design, civil and structural engineering, mechanical engineering and MEP design, LEED and green building design, and construction budgeting and scheduling.

    Fire Protection Engineering (FPE)
    Club members will compete in Regional Fire Protection Engineering Challenge sponsored by the University of Maryland College Park held each Spring at the ATF National Fire Laboratory.

    It's Academic
    It's Academic team members practice weekly throughout the school year answering quiz bowl-style questions on a broad range of subjects. They compete several times a year at meets with other Catholic School League member schools. There are also NDP It's Academic intramurals that take place throughout the year.

    Mock Trial
    This club aims to learn about the law, prepare a case, and compete against other Mock Trial teams.

    Model UN
    NDP participates in the YMCA Model UN Program, which serves more than 2,000 young people annually across the Mid-Atlantic United States (spanning from New York to DC). The 3-day conference is held in Hershey, PA in January and provides an unprecedented simulation of the UN that highlights the themes of collaboration, cultural understanding, and problem-solving that are at the core of the organization's real-life goals. Students develop their debate skills and find their voice by representing a nation in one of the many committees or assemblies. This one-of-a-kind conference brings together servant leadership, public speaking, and global problem-solving to help build the global leaders of tomorrow, today.

    Sailing Club
    This club aims to spread the word about sailing, invite students to learn about water sports, teach water safety, and show people connections they can make through sailing. Students that are interested are invited to learn about how to participate in a racing team.

    Speech and Debate
    Members of the Speech and Debate team participate in competitions involving public speaking, dramatic performance, and/or debate. The team also competes in forensics tournaments against local high schools once a month throughout the year with each member performing at least three times in the event(s) of their choosing. Some members also travel to regional and national tournaments.

    VEX Robotics Team
    The Upper Level VEX Robotics team participates in regional VEX V5 robotics competitions throughout the year. Robotics team members learn to design, build, and program a remote-controlled robot to complete a set of tasks specific to that year's challenge.
  • Cultural and Language Clubs

    Chinese Club
    The Chinese Club serves as a unique space to learn, discuss, and experience Chinese cultures and languages. The topics of meetings are largely decided by active student leaders and the members together. Cultural activities include but are not limited to: making crafts (ie: lantern and paper cutting), tasting and making Chinese food, watching movies, dancing, practicing Chinese yoyo, and Kung Fu. The Chinese club is also a Chinese language "corner" where we can have fun language games, but they will not require any prior knowledge of the Chinese language.

    French Club
    French Club members will meet to explore, promote, and appreciate French language and French culture, as well as plan events for National French Week in November.

    Global Council
    This club is an opportunity for students interested in growing and/or developing a more global mindset. The goal is to put NDP's goals of global citizenship into action while promoting social progress and awareness amongst our community and spreading it throughout the world. The Global Council partners with the Stevens Institute and the State Department to participate in virtual global exchange with MENA countries (Middle East and North Africa).

    Irish Club
    The club is new to NDP this year and is hoping to invite students to participate in fun and engaging ways to honor the Irish Culture. Club members will learn about, and plan special celebrations and activities together!

    Italian Club

    The club is meant for anyone who wants to learn more about Italy, the people, and the culture. We plan on highlighting a certain place or aspect of Italian culture, teaching members a bit of the language if they're interested in doing so, watching Italian movies a few times, and doing something special for the Christmas and Easter holidays.

    Spanish Club
    Spanish Club members will meet to explore, promote, and appreciate Spanish language and Spanish and Latin cultures. The club will come together in celebration of special holidays and participate in festive activities together!
  • General Interest Clubs

    Ambassadors Club
    Student ambassadors share their love of NDP with prospective students. Any UL student can join, and there are opportunities for leadership for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Club members assist with a variety of activities, most importantly in the Fall when recruiting new students for the next school year. New ambassadors in 9th grade serve as shadow hosts, and along with 10th, 11th, and 12th grade ambassadors, participate as tour guides for the annual Fall Open House, attend high school fairs, communicate as directed with prospective students, plus represent NDP at other Admissions-related events, such as student panels, welcome receptions, and more.

    Blaze Clefs
    Blaze Clefs are NDP's contemporary a cappella group (a la "Pitch Perfect"). This group, led by students and moderated by members of the faculty, performs in school concerts and occasional off-campus events. Auditions for the 2024-25 student group will be held in September and members are expected to attend practice twice per week before school as well as additional after school practices as needed prior to performances.

    Book Club
    The purpose of Book Club is to read books and poems, analyze books, and talk about the differences in genres.

    Botany Club
    This club is new to NDP this year! Members will be invited to learn about and practice all things plants. No experience or skills needed!

    Breathe and Stretch Club
    This club aims to create a safe and welcoming space for students to take time to breathe and stretch. No experience is necessary and all are welcome!

    Classic Literature Club
    This club meets once per month to discuss pre-determined books from authors ranging from Shakespeare and J.D. Salinger to Jane Austen and Louisa May Alcott.

    Cyber Club
    This club provides opportunities for students to compete against other schools in the cyber space.

    Executive Functioning Club
    This club is new this year and hopes to provide a safe space for members to learn strategies and tools that support academic success.

    Fandom 2.0
    Fandom Club is a place where people who love anime, gaming, or TV gather to hangout and share their opinions on these topics. Meeting activities include watching anime, playing games, and exploring different fandoms. Sometimes we branch out to music, books, or movies, but the main focus are the previous topics mentioned. All shows and music must be screened by the President and the moderator to make sure they are school appropriate.

    Fashion Club
    NDP's Fashion Club is a space for all fashion-interested students to communicate, share, and learn about fashion's impact on the NDP and greater communities. Fashion Club is strongly immersed in community outreach, recognizing issues including, but not limited to, sustainability, body positivity and inclusivity, and systemic issues within the industry. Meetings range from learning something new such as sewing to guest speakers from the industry to discuss career opportunities. The NDP club is an official club of the national organization, FIDM Fashion Club.

    Fellowship of Christian Athletes
    The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is an organization that seeks to impact the world for Christ through the platform of sports.

    Infinity Club
    This club has two purposes. The first is to raise awareness and educate the community about Neurodivergence. The second is to offer a support system and a safe place for people with neurodivergences.

    Pickleball Club
    The purpose of the pickleball club is to gather students who love the sport to practice together and eventually compete against other schools.

    Red Cross Club
    This club is new to NDP this year! The goal of the club is to organize blood drives for students to participate in.

    Rock Music Club
    This club is a place where anyone can come to talk about music, listen to music, or to play music together. Club members are invited to participate in planned rehearsals in preparation for possible performances.

    Ski/Board Club
    This club provides opportunities for organized ski/snowboarding outings. Promoting winter physical exercise and overall sisterhood bonding. Trips will meet approximately weekly during the ski/snowboard season (~ 5-6 trips).

    Stitching Sisters
    This club welcomes students to get together to knit and crochet. All are welcome—we can learn from each other! The club is hoping to collaborate and celebrate themed get-togethers during the holidays!

    The Gateway
    The Gateway Club is a student-run organization that oversees the production of The Gateway, NDP's online student newspaper. Electronic issues are published once per month from August through June. All students are welcome to join as writers or photographers. Leadership positions are available to juniors and seniors.

    Writing Club
    Writing Club brings writers together to challenge each other to explore new ideas and styles of writing.
  • Service Clubs & Opportunities

    Club Umoja
    Club Umoja is an organization dedicated to working with youth living in Public Housing in Baltimore City. We hold monthly holiday-themed parties for youngsters that anyone is welcome to sign up for. Sign-ups are posted a week prior and are first-come, first-serve.

    Doctors Without Borders
    This club will educate students about the different health issues around the world and how we can make an impact. The NDP club is an official club of the international organization.

    Dress Swap
    The Dress Swap seeks to reduce the NDP community's reliance and consumption of fast fashion through the collection and distribution of secondhand dresses from within the NDP community, keeping these dresses that otherwise might be only worn once in circulation and giving the dresses another chance to dance! The club gathers dresses from the NDP community and host a swap/shop event for the student body, to encourage NDP girls to make secondhand their first choice.

    Habitat for Humanity
    Habitat for Humanity is a service group that participates in local renovations and home builds once a month for Susquehanna Habitat for Humanity.

    I.M.P.A.C.T
    I.M.P.A.C.T. is an organization that oversees non-direct service opportunities on campus.

    Mell's Club
    Mell's Club travels weekly to local elementary schools to read to kids and help them with their homework.

    Operation Smile
    Operation Smile is a group that gathers to make crafts for children with Cleft Palate Syndrome.

    Project Care
    This club meets a few times each semester to make cards for children who are hospitalized.

    Rafiki
    Once a month, young women with disabilities come to NDP for an after-school holiday-themed "hangout!" Guests participate in crafts, games, and some much needed girl-time!

    Refugee Youth Project (RYP)
    NDP students volunteer with the local nonprofit, Refugee Youth Project. Students attend training and are able to visit Morovia Park Elementary School twice per week to tutor children who recently arrived in the United States.

    Friends in Faith/Saturday Socials
    One Saturday every month we meet either at NDP or Loyola to spend time with adults with disabilities to give them a Saturday night activity to participate in. This night is filled with food, crafts, service activities, faith sharing, gym games, music, and more!

    ShareBaby
    The purpose of this club is to raise awareness about a lack of baby/young child supplies for homeless families. We host donation drives would like to organize a once-a-quarter group opportunity to volunteer at ShareBaby. NDP is part of the regional organization.

    Special Olympics Club
    Special Olympics Club brings attention to local Special Olympics events and aims to provide volunteers for these events. NDP is part of the national organization.

    Travis Manion Foundation Club
    Based on the words of fallen hero Travis Manion, "if not me, then who...," the Travis Manion Foundation Club shares stories of real people who exemplify great character and leadership. CDM Mentors demonstrate what it means to live the "If Not Me, Then Who..." ethos, and then challenge students to do the same. NDP is an official club of the National organization.

    Ukeladies
    The Ukeladies is a band of students dedicated to spreading the fun and enjoyment of ukulele music. The group performs at area nursing homes, as well as at NDP special events such as Open House. Previous experience is not necessary. All that is needed is an appreciation of this four-stringed instrument and a willingness to learn and have fun.

    Wagmore Club
    The purpose of the club is to create dog and cat toys with old t-shirts and donate them to the SPCA. The club also helps organize an SPCA cat and dog food and supply drive during Catholic Schools Week.

    Women in Business
    Speakers who work in the business industry come to campus and share their experiences and answer any questions.

    Women in Film
    The Women in Film club operates for the purpose of educating members on the women who create and star in films of our time and the past. We watch movies relevant to the month and send out newsletters on the topic.

    Women in Law and Justice
    This club provides a collaborative and supportive environment that empowers and inspires young women who are interested in legal and justice fields.

    Women in Medicine
    The club brings in women who work in the medical field and they give brief talks about their careers. We also make cards for hospitals, and went on a field trip to the University of Maryland Medical School.

    Women in Sports
    The Women in Sports club is about giving NDP students the opportunity to make connections, make impacts, and meet some of the best in the business. This club is about bringing the successful people in the world of sport in to speak to the club.

    Women in Technology
    Students interested in learning more about technology and how it impacts our everyday lives gather to learn about the unique opportunities to engage in new and emerging technologies. The club will be taking advantage of the recording studio, shadow the Help Desk, and serve as tech assistants during ML TRAC and IDT time. Guest speakers from the technology industry will present to the club.

Upper Level Organizations

Four key organizations comprise the student leadership of Notre Dame Preparatory School. Officers in the Athletic Association (AA), Christian Community Awareness Program (CCAP), Student Council (SC), and Diversity Council (DC) are elected each spring by the student body and become role models for student leadership. In addition to these officers, a representative from each Advisory is elected to each of the four organizations.
