Honoring our Past…Transforming our Future

A Special Time in our History

A 150th Anniversary Initiative for Notre Dame Preparatory School

Notre Dame Preparatory School (NDP) has a rich history of providing transformative education to young women for 150 years. The school is committed to honoring its legacy and ensuring the future of the school by investing in the heart of NDP—its people, most especially, its amazing students and dedicated and talented faculty and staff.

Notre Dame’s educators, administrators, moderators, and coaches have dedicated their lives to Catholic education and have played an instrumental role in shaping the lives of generations of students. To continue to attract and retain exemplary faculty and staff, it is crucial to provide them with competitive and just compensation and benefits. By doing so, NDP can continue to foster a community that thrives on excellence, passion, innovation, and collaboration. By investing in faculty expertise, NDP ensures that students receive a world-class education that prepares them to reach the fullness of their God-given potential and readies them for the challenges of tomorrow.

We must also invest in making a NDP education available and accessible to all; and ensure that girls who will thrive at Notre Dame Prep are able to choose to attend our great school, benefiting from being a part of our wonderful community.

This two-pronged rationale forms the basis for our endeavor to raise $2 million to support NDP's students, faculty, staff, moderators, and coaches.

By joining this anniversary gift effort, donors become part of the legacy of support for NDP faculty, staff, and students. Together, we can invest in the NDP community, ensuring the continued success of the School and the transformation of students' lives. With a goal of $2 million, this special anniversary initiative represents an opportunity to shape the future of education and inspire greatness in all who pass through the iconic gateway of Notre Dame Preparatory School. Join us in celebrating 150 years of educational excellence and making a lasting impact on the lives of our extraordinary school community.

List of 3 items.

  • Description of project

The objective of this special anniversary initiative is to raise $2 million beyond The Fund for Notre Dame Prep to enhance faculty and staff salaries, stipends, and benefits; and to raise funds for scholarships as part of the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Scholarship Program. By investing in the educators who embody the mission of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, along with girls who would otherwise be unable to receive an NDP education, we will ensure the continued excellence of our institution and the transformative education it provides.

To further enhance participation in this special anniversary initiative for Notre Dame Preparatory School (NDP) and provide donors with specific options for their contributions, we have identified two distinct funds that donors can support. These funds include the (already established) Faculty & Staff Benefits Fund and the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Scholars Program. By diversifying the areas of support, donors are better able to support their specific areas of interest, and the school is better positioned to maximize their contributions.
  • Faculty & Staff Benefits Fund

The Faculty & Staff Benefits Fund aims to support the well-being and long-term security of NDP's dedicated faculty, staff, and coaches. This fund will allocate resources to enhance healthcare coverage, retirement plans, and other benefits that contribute to the overall satisfaction and quality of life of NDP employees. By donating to this endowment, donors demonstrate their commitment to recognizing and valuing the efforts of NDP's educators, ensuring they feel supported and justly compensated for their transformative work. The goal is to provide an immediate impact and to build this already-existing endowment so that funds will be available for immediate use and faculty and staff will receive additional compensation in the next fiscal year. This fund will serve NDP’s 187 employees, including School Sisters of Notre Dame as well as lay women and men. Lead donors may have the option to endow teaching or coaching chairs as part of this special initiative.

Notre Dame Prep’s Anniversary Gala will support the Faculty & Staff Benefits Fund.
  • Rollins-Luetkemeyer Scholars Program

Recognizing the need to address the affordability gap for students and families in independent schools, the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Foundation, Inc. pledged $250,000 in matching funds to support NDP’s fundraising for this new scholarship program established for families with an annual income of $75,000-$150,000. NDP included this program in its 150th Anniversary initiative to launch the scholarship program for future incoming classes.

NDP raised $500,000 through this effort by the February 14, 2024, deadline and has received $250,000 in matching funds from the Foundation. The Rollins-Luetkemeyer Foundation has agreed to renew this match for the 2024-2025 year, and all subsequent funds raised for this effort will go toward achieving next year’s match.
