“Act justly, to love tenderly, and to walk humbly with God.” (Micah 6:8)
Welcome to Campus Ministry
Campus Ministry at NDP
Notre Dame Prep is a Catholic school that welcomes students of all faiths. The school's Campus Ministry program fosters the development of personal and communal spirituality centered on the Gospel values of Jesus Christ. All students are welcome to participate in Campus Ministry to explore, share, and grow in faith. Students plan and prepare liturgies, retreats, prayer services, and daily prayer. Through the Campus Ministry program, students lead the Notre Dame community toward ever-growing spiritual energy and expression of God’s love.
Class Retreats
All grades enjoy a class retreat each year. Retreats focus on Christian spirituality and personal growth with age-appropriate activities. For instance, freshman retreat focuses on class connections and senior retreat gathers the class for one last time to reflect on becoming “women who will transform the world” before they graduate.
Daily Prayer
Students lead daily prayer for the entire school community each morning to center the school day on our Christian faith and Gospel values.
Liturgies
Our school comes together for prayer, scripture and Communion at liturgies, which are held before special occasions and on Holy Days. Student Campus Ministers plan and assist at all liturgies, serving as readers and ushers. The NDP student liturgy band enlivens the celebration with liturgical music. At the annual Christmas liturgy, the NDP community welcomes back recent alumnae who celebrate with former teachers and younger friends. Another special liturgy, the Senior Farewell Liturgy, honors the departing twelfth graders. At Foundation Day Liturgy we celebrate our SSND heritage and charism of unity with special recognition of the School Sisters of Notre Dame in ministry at NDP.
Prayer Services
Prayer services, such as those during the liturgical seasons of Advent and Lent, unite the community in purposeful reflection of our Catholic identity. Each Ash Wednesday, for instance, the school comes together to prepare for the Lenten season. Students and faculty marked one another with the sign of our Christian faith — the cross.
